Hello and welcome to your first ever, full exclusive update on an entire week of progress.
That’s right, I changed things up this week. I’ve chosen to drop Thursdays and Fridays and move them to content creation and client work. This is because I’ve not had a client in a few months and I plan to up the amount of videos going on this channel.
So you might be wondering if the progress of the book is slowing down at all….
Let’s see shall we?
MONDAY 21ST SEPTEMBER 2026
I hit the ground running this week with an extra pep in my step. Honestly I think I work better when I have a short burst of time because this one was excellent for progress. I got through 1 and a half scenes, then after being interrupted by a timely client related thing I got back to it in the evening and managed another 1 and a half putting me at 3 scenes sunk and….
I officially hit 50%.
But we’ll talk about that later.
TUESDAY 22ND SEPTEMBER 2026
On paper this one looks a little unproductive, but the scene I was editing was 4200 words so I agreed with myself that if I can get that done that will be enough. Honestly, it was so big I chose to split it into two chapters, so while I got 1 scene in the tank, I actually added 2 chapters.
Then in the evening I recorded a podcast with Chance Dillon which covered topics such as:
World Building
Character Development
Plot Twists
Hooks
It’ll be split down into four separate videos and released weekly on my YouTube channel, or you can catch the entire episode as early as tomorrow on the lowest paid tier of my Patreon.
WEDNESDAY 23RD SEPTEMBER 2026
I started out feeling very heavy imposter syndrome. If I’m totally honest I even feel it right now, like who the heck am I to be rambling on about my book like it’s the next big thing or something?
Gotta dream I guess.
Either way I tackled the feeling the only way I know how.
I felt like crap and I did it anyway.
By the end of the day I had managed to hit my goal of editing 2 more scenes.
Overall that’s 6 more scenes in the pot and putting us at 53% completion.
So let’s talk about that cover reveal shall we?
As you know, I’ve been working alongside a friend of mine to design the cover for the book. He’s done a fantastic job, but there was one asset we needed to get created specifically for the cover and so I’ve reached out to someone else.
Long story short, the cover will be locked tomorrow, a video will be sent to Richard and Austin next week, and the cover will officially be revealed for all to see on Friday 2nd October.
BUT NOT FOR YOU, FAITHFUL READER.
That’s right, you’ll get your eyes on it first, because in next week’s email I’ll be sharing it for you all to see.
Right, I better head off because I need to go and prepare a document ready for the first part of the filming of the synopsis reveal that will be taking part tomorrow.
