Hey everyone!
What a fantastic week it has been.
Before I break down what I’ve been up to, it’s finally time for me to confirm the title of the book. You’ll have heard what I’ve been throwing about, but it wasn’t until last week when the cover artist was doing an edit of the cover, and we tried this one, that I realised how good it both looked and sounded.
It now strikes me as the only title I could go for and that is….
Drum roll….
The Coward’s Blade
I’m very excited to let Austin and Richard know about this one. I really feel that it hits the vibe of my story better than anything that came before it and can’t wait to finally present the cover to you….
Speaking of which, how much closer are we to that now?
Well, let’s break down my week.
MONDAY 14TH SEPTEMBER 2026
I decided that less is more on this day, going in with the approach that if I promise myself less, maybe I’ll produce more. I’d love to say that’s what happened; instead, I only got one scene in the pot.
TUESDAY 15H SEPTEMBER 2026
I only had an hour and a half to work on the book on this day, but because I was editing such a small scene which was about 80% there as it was (seriously the middle of this book has some really awesome moments I’d forgotten I’d written!), either way I still got one scene done.
WEDNESDAY 16th SEPTEMBER 2026
This one marks the 2 year anniversary of picking up the book. That’s right, two years ago on this day I picked up my metaphorical pen (keyboard) and wrote the opening sentence of this story (the very same one that appears at the start of the book to this very day).
I promised myself that I could have one day where I can start producing a brand new series, it’s called Story Analyst Reacts and comprises me reacting to films, TV shows and eventually novels that I really enjoyed, pulling out key takeaways for everyone to use in their writing. This one was fraught with technical difficulties, and I finished it having done no work and feeling a little vulnerable.
THURSDAY 17TH SEPTEMBER 2026
With the terrible ending to yesterday, I was determined to pull things back and re-worked a few of my plans, making a brand new schedule I wasn’t just able to edit 1 scene. I managed over 2. That’s right, not only did I finish editing the first episode of my new show, I also edited 3 scenes today!
More of that please!
Which means that as things stand at this very moment I’m at 45% completion. Meaning that if I get my 1 scene done tomorrow I only have to finish 3 more next week in order to hit the half way point ready for that all important cover reveal….
….though there’s a twist on that….
See, I’m currently waiting on a cover artist to add the final touches, we are so close but I’m going to have to see when they are done as I want it to be the best it can be….
…and in other news, I’m already planning how to do the synopsis reveal, and I’ll be trying to record some of that on Friday, 25th September…. So lots of exciting things are going on.
Alright team, that’s it for this week,
I’ll see you all in the next one.
