Hey everyone,
Time just seems to be flying by I can’t believe we’ve already taken a chunk out of September. This week has been quite an emotional one over at the Earp headquarters as we’ve been transitioning into a new chapter of life and this comes with getting used to a brand new routine.
The good news is that once this settles I will be able to put a lot more time into my work, the bad news is that the emotions running through the days have slowed me down a fair bit so the progress has been a little slower this week.
Between me and you, as a neurodiverse human I find change a little unsettling and so have been carrying a little bit of anxiety, which came out in an impressive panic attack in the early hours last night.
But that’s enough of my rambling, let’s talk about this week so far.
Monday 7th September 2026
As the first day to our new routine I was taking this one slow, but what made matters worse is that the scene I was working on needed a lot of work cosmetically and also structurally. Needless to say, I didn’t get anything in the can with this one, but I did get 1000 words or so edited.
Tuesday 8th September 2026
This one was much better. Having tried out the new routine I was pumped at the start of the day and thought I’d steam through a bunch…. but in the end I had to work really hard to get the big scene done well and managed to log that AND a second scene, putting us at 2 scenes complete this week.
Wednesday 9th September 2026
I’d booked this one off from the novel and spent the day editing the short film.
Thursday 10th September 2026
Today I had full intention of getting 2 more scenes finished, but in an exciting-but-annoying twist of events I got side-tracked by a writing competition and decided to give one of the prompts a go, before coming up with this 1400 word short to submit.
But don’t worry, I did manage to edit 1 scene too and I am so so proud of where this one is going and how everything is evolving.
That puts us at 39% complete, but more exciting means I am on track to break into the last 10% before the cover reveal as of tomorrow.
