Hey everyone,
It’s time for your first weekly update.
What a wonderful week it has been. I was blown away by the amount of support and excitement surrounding the project. Thank you all for choosing to join me on this journey; it’s been such a delight to work towards the completion of this draft while having people to keep updated along the way. It helps to keep me accountable and means I can do my utmost to make this journey as entertaining for you as possible.
It’s been a heck of a week.
Last weekend I laid out my goals and got an idea of how long I think this might take. Now I won’t disclose this publicly as it is subject to change, BUT the current soft deadline is 30th October, and that’s if I get a minimum of 2 scenes written per working day (I have the weekends off).
So, how is it going?
Well, this week I’ve started work on a brand new vlog series that will go out every Friday, which is all about tracking my progress. As you have joined my newsletter, I’ll be giving you the deets early so you’ll always be ahead of the game. Let me give you a rundown of the week so far:
Monday 10th August
Started out a bit rough. Lots of procrastination because the scene I was working on was a brand new one and my confidence was low. Pushed through, had lunch, and hit the 2 scene goal.
Tuesday 11th August
This one was crazy. I doubled my goal at 4 scenes and put myself ahead of the target. Unsurprising, considering Act 1 and 2 (out of 5), has already had some edits.
Wednesday 12th August
Not as impressive, but I hit the 2 scene goal.
Thursday 13th August (Today)
It was touch and go as I tried to tackle a super challenging scene to start off with, but as with all writing problems, they tend to go the more you work through them, and I completed 2 scenes.
This puts us at 8 scenes edited this week so far and our completion as of this moment at 19.7%.
Other antics included:
Preparing an exciting collaboration with Chance Dillon, author of Mercy: Tears of the Fallen & Mercy: Ill is the Fate.
Discussing the title reveal plans with Richard and Austin (watch this space).
Overall, I’d put this first official week of editing down as a whopping success!
Have a beautiful week.
